Nov Month sales report of Indian automotive sector. Good news on Nano sales (increase in 12 times).
TATA MOTORS :
The passenger vehicles business reported a total sale and distribution offtake of 28,774 nos. (27,737 Tata + 1037 Fiat) in the domestic market in November 2011, higher by 76% compared to 16,363 nos. (15,340 Tata + 1023 Fiat) in November last year. Sales of Tata passenger vehicles for November 2011 are at 27,737 nos., a growth of 81% over 15,340 nos., sold in November last year. Sales of the Tata Nano were 6,401 nos., compared to 509 nos., sold in November, last year. The Indica range sales were 10,926 nos., higher by 91%, over 5,716 nos., sold in November, last year. The Indigo range recorded sales of 6,213 nos., higher by 3%, over 6,009 nos., sold in November, last year. The Sumo/ Safari/ Aria/ Venture range accounted for sales of 4,197 nos., a growth of 35%, over 3,106 nos., sold in November, last year.
Maruti Suzuki :
Maruti Suzuki India sold a total of 91,772 vehicles in November 2011 compared to 112554 units sold in November 2010. There us a sharp drop of 27 % in the sales of Mini Cars segment consisting of Maruti 800, Maruti Alto, Maruti A-star and Maruti Wagon R
Hyundai India :
Hyundai is back on track again and with a strong overall sales number of 57080 cars in November 2011 including domestic and export sales compared to sale of 44540 cars in November 2010.
Honda Siel :
Honda SIEL India has been going though a tough phase because of unfortunate floods in Thailand. Impacting its monthly sales. In November 2011 Honda India sold only 1982 cars compared to 4105 cars sold in November 2010.
The total sales of November 2011 stood at 13956 cars compared to 5242 units in November 2010. The reason for this amazing sales number is the introduction of Toyota Etios sedan and Toyota Etios Liva hatchback in India which are high selling cars of Toyota in India now.
Mercedes- Benz India :
Mercedes Benz India has recorded positive growth in the second half of 2011, posting 31% growth year on year (January – November 2011: 6698 units; January – November in 2010: 5110 units)
General Motors (Chevrolet) India sustained its sales in the month of November 2011 compared to the sales number of November 2010. There has been a slight increase of 0.76% in sales by GM India selling 8440 cars in November 2011 compared to 8376 cars in November 2010.
Skoda managed a wonderful growth of sales by 43% by selling 2627 units in month of November 2011 compared to the 1841 units sold in November 2010. A big credit goes to the newly launched Skoda Rapid and new version of more affordable Skoda Fabia hatchback.
The recently launched Sunny added to the sales, as 1131 units of the newly launched sedan were sold.1514 unit of the Nissan Micra were sold in November.
Volkswagen sold 6722 vehicles in the month of November 2011, a growth of 46 percent over 4,612 vehicles sold in November 2010.
